Betty Hall (1768-1848)

Betty Hall was born on 05 Jul 1768 in Uxbridge, Worcester, Massachusetts, as the eighth child of Edward Hall and Lydia Brown. She had nine siblings, namely: Hannah, Ezekiel, Abijah, James, Edward, John, Lydia, Ezra, and Darius. Betty was baptized on 4 Sep 1768 at Uxbridge, Worcester, Massachusetts.

Her father moved the family to New Hampshire during the American Revolution.

When she was 17, Betty Hall married John Loverin, son of Ebenezer Lovering and Lydia, on 16 Jun 1786 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire.

John Loverin and Betty Hall had the following children:

1. Eunice Loverin was born on 23 May 1787 in Protectworth, Springfield, Sullivan, New Hampshire. She died on 23 Mar 1793 in New Hampshire at age 5.
2. Achsah Loverin was born on 03 Dec 1788 in Protectworth, Springfield, Sullivan, New Hampshire. She married John Barton in 1807. She died on 25 Mar 1885 in Springfield, Sullivan, New Hampshire at age 96.
3. Kimbell Loverin was born on 30 Aug 1790 in Protectworth, Springfield, Sullivan, New Hampshire. He married Mary Hayes in 1813. He died on 14 May 1878 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire at age 87.
4. Mary Loverin was born on 01 Feb 1792 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire.  She married Adam Boyce on 02 Mar 1819 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire (then Cheshire county). She died on 01 Jan 1884 in Aurora, Kane, Illinois at age 91.
5. Caleb Loverin was born on 17 Feb 1794 in New Hampshire. He died on 29 Jun 1795 at age 16 months.
6. Betty Loverin was born on 11 Jan 1796 in New Hampshire. She married Simon Ames in 1814. She died on 29 Oct 1895 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire at age 99.
7. Eunice Loverin was born on 03 Mar 1799 in New Hampshire. She married Josiah Ide about 1825. She died on 31 Jan 1890 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire at age 90.
8. Hannah Hall Loverin was born on 21 Jun 1801 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire. She married George Watson in 1823. She married Mr. Colter. She died on 05 Jul 1879 at age 78.
9. Lydia Hall Loverin was born on 22 Oct 1805 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire. She married Abraham Sanborn Philbrick in 1830. She died in Jun 1875 in New Hampshire at age 69.
10. John Caleb Loverin was born on 25 Aug 1808 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire. He married Harriet Paul in 1837. He died on 06 Nov 1865 in Whitefield, Coos, New Hampshire at age 57.
11. Loisa Jane Printice Loverin was born on 09 Sep 1811 in Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire.  She married Asa Abell in 1835. She died on 16 Mar 1879 at age 67.

Betty became a widow when her husband, John Loverin, passed away on 23 Sep 1843 at Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire.

Betty Hall Loverin died a few years later, on 21 Mar 1848, in Springfield, Sullivan, New Hampshire. She was 79-years old at the time of her death. Betty Hall was buried about 24 Mar 1848 in Four Corners Cemetery, Croydon, Sullivan, New Hampshire.

Her estate was probated on 15 Oct 1848 in Sullivan, New Hampshire, USA. She left a will that was used to settle her estate. Her children shared the estate in the following manner:

Her daughters were to share her wearing apparel, gold beads and jewelry. Additionally, the children were to equally share any “residue” of the estate after “paying all my just debts, funeral expenses and legacies.” She named her son John the executor.
